Newsletter for Bloggers – From YouTube This Week:
SEO Tutorial for Beginners (Works in 2023) Nathan Gotch
Learn from a top SEO Expert here – with the infamous Nathan Gotch. This comprehensive SEO tutorial provides a step-by-step guide for beginners in 2023. In the first section Nathan targets the keyword “how to kill a wasp” in the pest control niche as an example.
It emphasizes analyzing search results, identifying weak competition, and building a strategic keyword cluster. The approach involves creating content assets with unique intents, utilizing user-generated content on platforms like Reddit and Quora, and optimizing for both Google and YouTube. The tutorial suggests an experiment-based content angle, including testing and comparing various wasp-killing techniques.
Tools like Surfer and ChatGPT are recommended for competitor analysis and generating an SEO-friendly content outline based on NLP keywords. The tutorial also delves into the importance of link-building, offering insights on exploring opportunities, creating outreach emails, and refining strategies for optimal success in the ever-evolving landscape of SEO.
This is a beast of a video although it may be overwhelming on first watch if you are a beginner.
⭐Best Free Blogging Themes For WordPress 2023 (Seriously)⭐ (Darrel Wilson)
Darrel helps us to discover top WordPress themes for blogging, catering to various needs. He talks us through the multitudes of features, benefits and limitations of each theme. If you are wondering which theme to choose for your blog, this is a must watch, if only to see what is offered by the themes Darrel showcases here: Authentic emphasizes Gutenberg with 50 demos, Rishi offers robust customization, Blocksy provides plenty of features in the free option scoring 9 out of 10, losing a point because the paid option does not offer that much extra for bloggers.
J News stands out with 150+ demos, versatile layouts, and unique features like paywall. Darrel rates J News 10 out of 10 . Phlox, an underrated theme, offers diverse template kits and advanced features, scoring 8 out of 10 for its free version.
Consider Elementor for a theme-agnostic blog and Divi for customization with its theme builder.
I like the way he approaches this video from the perspective of a blogger and as always provides a huge amount of valuable information.
7 BEST Tips For Your First Year of Blogging | Blogging Advice from a 7-Figure Blogger (Sophia Lee)
00:00-15:42
Sophia suggests you start your blog by spending wisely; prioritize a self-hosted WordPress blog using Bluehost, an affordable theme from Etsy, and a valuable course. I think this is good advice in terms of always having a self-hosted blog from WordPress.org for free (not to be confused with WordPress.com). Cheap as chips hosting from Bluehost is also a good call when just starting out – its what I chose to begin my first websites.
I would go with one of the amazing free themes available (see Darrel’s Blogging Themes review above)rather than buying a fairly unknown one from Etsy, especially if you are not 100% sure what you are choosing and why.
I personally chose one of the top rated courses available after much research and then bought a second top rated course. I’ve used and compared them and can highly recommend them both, depending on where you are on your blogging journey. If you don’t want to spend out on a paid course there are also lots of free resources too.
Sophia continues: Focus on one thing in your first year—like increasing page views. Choose a topic you’re passionate about to sustain long-term commitment. Establish a realistic schedule, consider ROI, and understand that blogging takes time; don’t expect immediate results.
Set short and long-term goals, treating your blog as a marketing engine, understanding its value, and recognizing that blogging is still relevant for business growth.
Free SEO Competitive Analysis & Competitor Keyword Research Tutorial – SPPC SEO Tutorial #12 (Surfside PPC)
Learn how to conduct an in-depth SEO competitive analysis and keyword research using free tools, bypassing the need for paid alternatives.
Identify competitors in your niche and compare vital metrics like organic search traffic, keywords, backlinks, and domain authority. Uncover keyword and backlink gaps, areas for improvement, and understand why your website might lag behind competitors. Leverage tools such as SEMrush (free version), SpyFu, Google, Bing, SEO Ranking, SERPstat, Alexa, and SimilarWeb for valuable insights, refining your SEO strategy.
The process includes creating a comprehensive spreadsheet, analyzing competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, and introducing additional tools like Search Volume and Website SEO Checker. Regular updates every six months ensure tracking progress and discovering new opportunities to enhance website performance in search rankings.
What Bloggers Really Think Right Now – Affiliate Social 2023 (The Affiliate School)
00:00-16:18
Some times when we start blogging, it feels like a very lonesome and isolating path. Its always good to get the low-down from other bloggers and a great way to access other bloggers is through the growing number of meetings/gatherings and conferences popping up. If you can’t justify the cost or the time to attend in person, accessing them or snippets from them is great.
A recent affiliate event in Birmingham brought together 30 SEO enthusiasts, revealing key insights. Firstly, networking is vital for staying connected and adapting to industry changes.
The landscape has shifted due to updates, emphasizing the need for quick adaptation. Despite challenges, attendees showed resilience, dispelling notions of industry dropout. Gratitude was expressed for information sharing, highlighting the value of content creators.
Lastly, diverse paths lead to success, emphasizing the importance of flexibility in strategies. The event showcased a vibrant community focused on mutual growth and learning.
ChatGPT Vs Claude 2 Vs Bing AI – Which Is Best For Writing Blog Posts?! (Digital Creator Avi)
00:00-12:17
Three AI writers—Bing, Claude 2, and Chat GPT—were compared by Avi in generating an in-depth article on becoming a lawyer in Canada.
Despite some variations in ease of use, length, and format, all three provided substantial and well-formatted content.
In terms of AI detection, Bing performed better, being less likely to be identified as AI-generated. In assessing references and factual accuracy, Bing had an edge due to its internet connectivity, offering more up-to-date information.
Ultimately, Claude 2 emerged as the top choice with a score of 27 out of 30, but the choice between the three depends on specific needs and preferences, so this video is well worth watching if you use, or want to use any of these AI platforms for content.
SEO Made Easy: Learn E-E-A-T with Harpa AI – No Cost Involved (Lori Ballen)
Lori always offers great information in her videos and this one is a good example: Learn to boost your website’s SEO with a free Chrome extension powered by Chat GPT. The tool conducts an insightful SEO audit, optimizing for expertise, authority, and trust. Implement recommendations like adding an author bio, incorporating case studies, and citing reputable sources.
Enhance content with multimedia, bullet points, and compelling calls-to-action. Address content gaps, keywords, and income potential for a comprehensive user experience. Optimize H1/title tags and utilize free tools efficiently.
⭐ 12 Most Important Things You Need to Do After Installing WordPress and Building Your Website (Darrel Wilson)
00:00-07:40
Here, Darrel runs through a bit of a checklist for your WordPress.org blog so that once its installed you know what you need going forward.
After creating a WordPress website, ensure success by optimizing settings, installing an SEO plugin (I like Rankmath), and fully optimizing pages for search results. Improve website speed with plugins, prioritize security with tools like Wordfence (if this is not already included in your hosting), submit your site to search consoles (Rankmath can help do this for you), and integrate Google Analytics.
Use plugins for email capture forms, block spam, and connect social media platforms. Include terms, conditions, privacy policies, and GDPR notices to protect your site legally. Finally, make your website is accessible using tools like Accessibee to enhance user experience and avoid accessibility lawsuits, ensuring a successful online presence.
